Brian Dehne

WDC Select Assistant Director

Brian Dehne is from Austin, Texas.  He started out doing shows through school that got him interested in dance leading to a few years of competitive dance throughout elementary and middle school. After leaving the competitive dance scene, Brian started getting involved with local theatre such as Zach Theatre and TEXArts, growing his love of musical theatre and leading him to Rider University for his BFA in Musical Theatre. He spent two years in New York City ready to grow his career and follow his dreams. During this time, he was able to perform in the 30th annual Broadway Bares and a STEPS Industry Showcase at STEPS on Broadway. Currently, Brian is going into his second year as an MFA Candidate at Sam Houston State University pursuing a master’s in dance.

While at Sam Houston, he has had the privilege in performing in Ready, Set, Reset that was choreographed by Brontè Hopkins at the Montague Dance Theater as well as at Artist’s For Hope in spring 2026 and presented his own piece, L’as De Pique, at the Montague Dance Theater. Upcoming credits include performing in Bowllet, choreographed by Rachel Redding, at Mind The Gap in Fall 2026 and presenting his own piece, Lessons, at the Montague Dance Theater.

Brian is so excited to be teaching for his third year at Woodforest Dance Company. He is also, entering his second year as Assistant Director of the competition teams and could not be more thrilled to be entering this 2026-2027 season. Teaching is a true passion of his and cannot wait to keep showing what is possible in the world of dance.
